چکیده

Objectives: To compare the effectiveness of an isolated Eccentric exercise program versus Conventional in athletes with rotator cuff tendinopathy. Methods: The study included 80 (RC) tendinopathy (diagnosed on Magnetic resonance imaging) presenting to author’s tertiary level institute. Patients were randomized into two groups 40 each. eccentric group (n = 40, mean age 26.4years ) received training combined stretching, while conventional scapular stabilization exercises, concentric RC strengthening exercises and stretching. 25.2years). both fulfilled 12 week daily home based treatments twice a for 3 months. Primary outcome measures shoulder pain (a 0–100mm Visual Analog Scale; VAS) function measured Constant Murley score Disabilities Arm, Shoulder Hand (DASH) score. Secondary isometric abduction strength 45° plane (Hand held dynamometer) range motion (forward elevation, external rotation). All measurements taken at baseline, 12, 24weeks. There was no statistically significant difference pre-intervention scores between groups. approved by Institutional Review Board. Results: After 24 weeks, showed decrease VAS DASH increase No differences found any evaluated measures. In EE group, there slight deterioration CM but this did not reach statistical significance. Both also had muscle baseline weeks. Conclusions: A is as effective (but superior to) athletes.

Effects of Eccentric Exercise and Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy on Rehabilitation of Patients with Noncalcific Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy

Objective: In this study, in order to establish a more effective therapeutic model for the patients with chronic rotator cuff tendinosis, the authors attempted to compare the therapeutic effects of general physical therapy, eccentric contraction exercise, extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and their combination for patients with noncalcific subscapular tendinosis. Methods: 120 patients wi...

Efficacy of exercise therapy in workers with rotator cuff tendinopathy: a systematic review

OBJECTIVE To perform a systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the efficacy of therapeutic exercises for workers suffering from rotator cuff (RC) tendinopathy. METHODS A literature search in four bibliographical databases (Pubmed, CINAHL, EMBASE, and PEDro) was conducted from inception up to February 2015. RCTs were included if participants were workers suffering from RC t...

High- versus low-energy extracorporeal shock wave therapy of rotator cuff tendinopathy: a prospective, randomised, controlled study.

A prospective, controlled, randomised trial was performed to compare the effect of high-energy extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) versus low-energy ESWT in treatment of rotator cuff tendinopathy. Forty adult patients were included in the study. Patients in the intervention group received 6000 impulses of high-energy (ED+ 0.78 mJ/mm2) in 3 sessions under local anaesthesia. Patients in the ...

Exercise for rotator cuff tendinopathy: a systematic review.

BACKGROUND Shoulder pain due to rotator cuff tendinopathy is a common problem. Exercise is one intervention used to address this problem but conclusions from previous reviews have been mixed. OBJECTIVE To systematically review the effectiveness of exercise, incorporating loaded exercise (against gravity or resistance), for rotator cuff tendinopathy. DATA SOURCES An electronic search of AMED...
